Is your driveway in need of a makeover? The front of your home lacking a little pizzazz? Imagine dressing them up with an award winning Elantra model, with the simple click of a mouse. Hyundai Motor America has made that vision a reality launching its “Driveway Decision Maker.” The innovative tool, pickmyelantra.com, allows customers to style and tailor their favorite Elantra model, in the comfort of their home.
A first for U.S. automotive companies, the digital experience allows visitors to “test-drive” the Elantra on a personal level. Available on flash-enabled web browsers, the website taps in to the Google Maps API and prompts visitors to enter their desired street address, color and model of choice. Users then experience a real life view, powered by Google Street View, of their chosen Elantra model – GT, Coupe or Sedan -- driving to the destination. At arrival, users can freely rotate, park in a driveway, tilt and even parallel park. In addition, users can download, save and share with friends on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.
“With the two additions to the Elantra family, customers now have the option of choosing between the GT, Coupe and Sedan,” said Steve Shannon, vice president of Marketing, Hyundai Motor America. “Driveway Decision Maker lets users customize and ‘try-on’ which Elantra fits them best.”
Unveiled earlier this year, the Elantra GT and Coupe expands the Elantra family to reach youthful and sporty buyers. The GT features European driving dynamics and five-door functionality. The Coupe caters to those who enjoy the compact coupe features, with a sporty design. The 2012 North American Car of the Year, Elantra Sedan continues to be one of the hottest selling cars in the country.

My family currently owns 2 Hyundai's and we love them. This was our third purchase of a Hyundai. Our current purchase is our second Hyundai from Checkered Flag Hyundai Volkswagen in Virginia Beach. My family actually lives in Northern Virginia (Woodbridge area, a 3 hour drive) yet we continue to purchase from Checkered Flag in Virginia Beach because of the service, friendly staff, professionalism and most important the price. Joel Perry was very professional and took the time to go over the whole process and to teach us about all of the features on our new vehicle. He even programmed our phones to the bluetooth in the vehicle. Thanks for your help Joel. I would also like to recognize the Sales manager Bryan Lane. Mr. Lane's customer service exceeded our expectations. I feel he is a great asset to Checkered Flag. His professionalism and courteousness was above reproach. In my view, Hyundai vehicles sell themselves but what determines where I buy the Hyundai vehicle is the customer service, professionalism and price. These three items are what first brought my family to Checkered Flag Hyundai Volkswagen of Virginia Beach in 2008 and has brought me back yet again. Keep up the great work Checkered Flag Hyundai Volkswagen in Virginia Beach and I will continue to come back again and again.

Kapalua, Maui, HI – With the conclusion of the FedExCup playoffs on the horizon, some of this season’s most successful players are looking forward to the 2013 season-opening winners-only Hyundai Tournament of Champions held at the Plantation Course at Kapalua Resort on January 3-7, 2013. Thanks to a new contest, fans will have a chance to join them in Maui.
While official commitments from players will not begin for some time, winners like THE PLAYERS champion Matt Kuchar and Northern Trust Open winner Bill Haas are looking forward to the possibility of making the trip to Hawaii.
“One of the great perks of winning on the PGA TOUR is knowing that you are qualified to go to Hawaii next year,” said THE PLAYERS winner Matt Kuchar. “I look forward to the trip to Hawaii with my family and all the things to experience in Maui. Kapalua is a fun course to play and the winds and elevation changes can make it a good test. I’m excited to test my game against the other PGA TOUR winners. It is always a great way to start the season with my family in Hawaii.”
Kuchar has enjoyed a tremendous 2012 campaign with 8 top-10 finishes highlighted by his victory at THE PLAYERS Championship in May. Kuchar has been one of the most consistent players on the PGA TOUR over the past several years, with 28 top-10 finishes dating back to the start of the 2010 season. Kuchar’s best finish at the Hyundai Tournament of Champions came in 2010 when he finished alone in third, three shots behind Geoff Ogilvy.
“It's an event that I circle on the schedule from day one if I can qualify. I love the golf course and the challenges and opportunities that it provides. I love being on the island with family and friends, especially that time of the year,” said 2012 Northern Trust Open winner Bill Haas. “I think the golf course is underrated. The fairways are certainly forgiving, but there are different ways that the course challenges you. It's just such a special place that time of the year and one of my favorite tournaments, no doubt.”
Fans now have the chance to also win a trip to the 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions.
Hyundai’s “Road to Kapalua” Facebook sweepstakes kicked-off on Tuesday, Sept. 4 and runs through Wednesday, Oct. 31. Golf fans everywhere can enter for a chance to win a trip to the 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions by “liking” Hyundai’s Equus Facebook page and filling out a short entry form. One lucky fan will be chosen to see the world’s best golfers take on Kapalua’s Planation Course and the beginning of the 2013 PGA TOUR season.
“It’s been an exciting season on the PGA TOUR with an outstanding group of winners who’ve already qualified for the 2013 Hyundai Tournament of Champions and we are now offering one lucky fan the opportunity to join them in Hawaii,” said Steve Shannon, vice president, Marketing, Hyundai Motor America. “We are really looking forward to our third year as title sponsor and continuing our connection with golf fans and the Maui community.”

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 26, 2012 – Rhys Millen claimed yet another victory in Formula DRIFT at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway for Round 6: After Dark. Millen, in the RMR Hyundai Genesis Coupe, moved into third place in the overall points standings leading into the final event of the season.
A new track configuration was added to the event at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway this year, while rainy conditions increased the challenge for drivers by an extra margin. The final contest pitted second place qualifier, Rhys Millen, fresh off his sub-10 minute world-record-setting victory at Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, against the number-one qualifier, Frederic Aasbo in the Need for Speed / Hankook Scion tC. Millen's Genesis Coupe used in Formula DRIFT is the same car he set the all-time world record at Pikes Peak, just a few short weeks ago.
On his lead run, Aasbo failed to maintain control and kissed the wall, giving Millen the advantage. With another victory in his sights, Millen maintained a perfect line to take the victory, moving him into third place overall for the season and posing a serious challenge to points leaders for the championship.
“It was an incredible victory for our entire crew at RMR, for Hyundai, Pulse and Hankook. To come here from Pikes Peak in the same car in a different configuration and in a different driving style and to do it back to back is a real tribute to our entire team" said Rhys Millen, winner of Round 6: After Dark. “This is a true driver's course that suits the car well and we were flawless all day long. Unfortunately, some of our competitors gifted us a couple wins, but at the end of the day we put the pressure on them to run deep and fast."
This year's final contest promises to be extremely competitive and hinges on the final match of the season, Formula DRIFT Championship Round 7: Title Fight, on October 12-13 at Irwindale Speedway, a local venue for Millen, Hyundai, and the RMR team.

COSTA MESA, Calif., Aug. 31, 2012 – The Hyundai Genesis Coupe piloted by Rhys Millen may be the most successful car ever created for sports car competition.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, with the glimmering lights of the Las Vegas Strip serving as an almost surreal backdrop, Millen and his Genesis Coupe accomplished a one-two punch the likes of which the motorsports world has never seen before. First, the world record of 9 minutes, 46.16 seconds and the Time Attack win at the acclaimed Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, beating Romain Dumas in a Porsche 911. Dumas was the 2010 winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Then, just 14 days later starting last Saturday in the 105-degree Las Vegas heat and into the early-morning hours of Sunday, there was a victory at the Formula DRIFT event appropriately titled “After Dark.” Millen and his drift-prepared Hyundai Genesis Coupe showed 63 other competitors in the Formula DRIFT series, including points leader Vaughn Gittin Jr. in his Ford Mustang, just what he could do behind the wheel of the Genesis Coupe.
What is truly remarkable is Millen piloted the same Hyundai Genesis Coupe in both events. No racer or race car, anywhere, has ever accomplished victories in such diverse events as Millen and Genesis Coupe has in such a short period of time, proving that Millen, one of the world's top stunt car drivers, is also one of its most talented racers no matter the altitude, time of day, number of competitors or number of turns on the course. It also proves the Genesis Coupe's versatility in winning two very different motorsports events as well. Race cars like Millen’s Hyundai Genesis Coupe wind up in museums.
Millen and his Genesis Coupe are now in third place in the Formula DRIFT overall points standings, leading into the final event of the season on October 12-13 at Irwindale Speedway in California. Millen has a chance capture his second Formula DRIFT title at Irwindale. The world-record-setting Genesis Coupe is the same car that set the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Time Attack 2WD record with Rhys’ father, Rod Millen, at the wheel and won the Formula DRIFT Round 6: After Dark last year.
“It was an incredible victory for our entire crew and for the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. To come here from Pikes Peak in the same car in a different configuration and in a different driving style and to do it back to back was quite a challenge,” said Millen. “Las Vegas has a truly diverse course that suited the car well and we were flawless all day long.”
